Newsletter Platforms Are Raising Prices - MailerLite, Beehiiv, Flodesk and Kit
Published at Oct 11, 2026
I just did a full review of every price in the newsletter calculator, and the result is not pretty. Four of the platforms we track have changed their pricing, and with a few exceptions the direction is the same: up.
Some of these changes are brand new, and some are months old that I only caught now. I have tried to put a date on each one and be clear about how sure I am.
The short version
| Platform | What changed | When |
|---|---|---|
| MailerLite | Plans renamed Comfort and Power, paid plans 7% to 38% more expensive, free plan cut to 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails | Reportedly June 2026 |
| Beehiiv | Plans renamed Free, Lite and Pro, Lite roughly 34% to 57% more expensive than before | October 1, 2026 for new customers |
| Flodesk | The flat $38 plan is gone, replaced by pricing per subscriber | Closed to new customers around end of November 2025 |
| Kit | Creator plan up 6% to 17% in the 10k to 20k range | September 2025 (we were late updating) |
MailerLite
MailerLite renamed its paid plans: Growing Business is now Comfort and Advanced is now Power. The prices went up on both, and so did the restrictions.
| Subscribers | Growing → Comfort | Advanced → Power |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $15 → $19 | $30 → $39 |
| 5,000 | $39 → $49 | $50 → $69 |
| 10,000 | $73 → $89 | $110 → $129 |
| 25,000 | $159 → $179 | $200 → $239 |
| 100,000 | n/a | $440 → $489 |
Across the tiers we track, Comfort is 7% to 32% more expensive and Power is 11% to 38% more expensive.
Two other things changed that are easy to miss:
- Comfort now limits sending. MailerLite’s own FAQ says Comfort includes 10 times your subscriber tier per month, so a list in the 1,000 tier can send 10,000 emails. Only Power has unlimited sending, subject to a fair use policy.
- The free plan was cut hard. It is now 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails per month, down from 12,000 emails. MailerLite says sending is locked if you go over 250 active subscribers. Third-party coverage says the subscriber limit was 500 right before this change, and our older data had 1,000.
MailerLite’s own pricing page does not say when this happened. A third-party guide dates it to June 2026, which matches what I can see, but treat the exact month as reported rather than confirmed.
Beehiiv
Beehiiv renamed its self-serve plans on October 1, 2026: Launch became Free, Scale became Lite and Max became Pro. New customers pay the new prices immediately. Existing customers move over at their first renewal on or after November 1, 2026, and annual subscribers keep their price until the end of their term.
| Subscribers | Scale → Lite | Max → Pro |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $39 → $59 | $99 → $109 |
| 5,000 | $79 → $109 | $149 → $199 |
| 10,000 | $99 → $139 | $199 → $239 |
| 50,000 | $199 → $299 | $299 → $469 |
| 100,000 | $299 → $469 | $399 → $699 |
That is roughly +34% to +57% on Lite, and the 100,000 subscriber tier on Pro is 75% more than before.
One caveat. Press coverage puts the previous 10,000 subscriber prices at $109 for Scale and $219 for Max, not the $99 and $199 in our data. That suggests Beehiiv raised prices at least once before October and we missed it. Against those numbers the increase is closer to +28% on Lite and +9% on Pro at 10,000 subscribers. Either way, it is a lot.
Beehiiv also gave some things back. The free plan still covers 2,500 subscribers with unlimited sends, Pro can now go up to 250,000 subscribers before you are pushed to Enterprise (it was 100,000), and a few features that used to be gated are now available on every plan. Pro seats are capped at 10, though.
Flodesk
This is the biggest change in structure. Flodesk used to sell one plan at a flat $38 per month no matter how many subscribers you had. That plan was closed to new customers around the end of November 2025, and pricing is now per subscriber with Lite and Pro tiers.
| Subscribers | Old | Lite | Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $38 | $25 | $28 |
| 2,500 | $38 | $32 | $39 |
| 5,000 | $38 | $52 | $59 |
| 10,000 | $38 | $72 | $79 |
| 25,000 | $38 | $162 | $169 |
| 50,000 | $38 | n/a | $389 |
| 100,000 | $38 | n/a | $689 |
Small lists actually get cheaper, with Lite starting at $25 for 1,000 subscribers. But above roughly 2,500 subscribers, the old flat plan was a far better deal, and at 50,000 subscribers you pay about ten times as much. Lite also comes with Flodesk branding in the footer and one automated workflow.
According to a competitor’s write-up (so keep that bias in mind), existing customers keep their unlimited plan, and the free plan can no longer send emails and works as a test account.
Kit
Kit is the least dramatic, and honestly this one is mostly on me. Third-party coverage dates Kit’s increase to September 2025, with existing customers moving over after October 15, 2025. Our data just hadn’t caught up.
| Subscribers | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| 10,000 | $119 | $139 |
| 15,000 | $149 | $169 |
| 20,000 | $179 | $189 |
| 25,000 | $199 | $199 |
I also added the lower tiers that were missing, starting at $39 for 1,000 subscribers, and tiers all the way up to 215,000 subscribers. Kit’s free plan is unchanged at up to 10,000 subscribers.
Anyone going the other way?
Loops is the only one I found moving in the right direction. Their free plan now includes 4,000 sends in any rolling 30 days, up from 2,000 in our old data. That one comes from reading their pricing page during the review, not from an announcement.
What I would do
- If you are on Flodesk with a big list and the old flat plan, hold on to it. It is no longer available to new customers, so a cancellation probably means you cannot get it back.
- If you are choosing today, run your real subscriber count through the newsletter calculator instead of reading the entry price. The gap between the “starting at” number and the 10,000 subscriber number has gotten a lot bigger.
- If you are on a free plan, look at Kit (10,000 subscribers) and Beehiiv (2,500 subscribers with unlimited sends) before MailerLite’s new 250 subscriber limit.
This is the same pattern as Mailchimp’s free plan cut earlier this year. Free tiers and cheap entry plans are how these platforms attract users, and pricing is adjusted once people are comfortable.
Prices are monthly billing in USD. Yearly billing is cheaper on all of these platforms. Sources are each platform’s pricing page, the vendors’ own announcements and FAQs where available, and press and third-party coverage where noted.
